Zwyczaje weselne z Europy Centralnej i Wschodniej

W czwartek 13 października o godzinie 17.30 w barze Clancy’s przy
Marlboro Street w Cork odbędzie się prezentacja tradycji weselnych oraz
degustacja tradycyjnych potraw, z takich krajów, jak Polska, Ukraina, Litwa,
Łotwa, Słowacja i Gruzja. Podczas wieczoru zatytułowanego Food and Wedding
Traditions of Central and Eastern Europe będzie można dowiedzieć się, jak w
poszczególnych krajach wyglądają zwyczaje związane z zawieraniem małżeństwa,
i usłyszeć wiele ciekawostek, na przykład, w jakim kraju najtrudniej zdobyć
pannę młodą, czy też gdzie młodzi przed ślubem muszą porąbać drzewo i zrobić
pranie.
Goście poznają także weselne zabawy z różnych krajów, w których sami będą
mieli okazję wziąć udział.
Ważną częścią wieczoru będzie prezentacja tradycyjnych potraw, wśród których
znajdą się różne rodzaje dań, na przykład polski bigos, ukraińskie pierogi,
gruzińskie chaczapuri, czy też rozmaite wędliny, chleby, ciasta i wiele innych
smakołyków. Wszystkich kulinarnych wyrobów będzie można skosztować na
miejscu.
Wieczór dodatkowo umili tradycyjna muzyka na żywo, a goście na pamiątkę
otrzymają płyty CD z tradycyjną muzyką z prezentowanych krajów europejskich.
Zapowiada się więc ciekawa międzynarodowa impreza, ze smacznymi
przekąskami.
Całość została ufundowana przez grant Ministra ds. Integracji i zorganizowana
przez Centrum Wsparcia i Integracji Together-Razem oraz Club of International
Friendship.

FOOD AND WEDDING TRADITIONS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE
At 5.30 on Thursday 13th of October Clancy’s Bar on Marlboro Street,
Cork will host an event presenting wedding traditions from countries such as
Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and Georgia. During the course of the evening
guests will hear about the different customs and traditions involved in the
wedding celebrations of these countries. We will discover in which country it is
the most difficult to coax the bride from her parents, or where before a couple
get married the groom has to chop firewood and the bride has to wash a dirty
doll. On the evening there will be fun wedding games from the various countries
in which all guests can participate.
The event will also include a presentation of traditional food and guests
can sample such dishes as Polish bigos (a type of hunter's stew), Ukrainian
dumplings, Georgian khachapuri (filled bread) and many more, including national
breads, cold meats, cakes and other sweets.
During the evening there will be live traditional music and all guests will receive
free Cds with music typical of the presented countries.
This free event is organised by Support and Integration Centre Together – Razem
in cooperation with Club of International Friendship and has been funded by
Minister for Integration Grant 2011.
